The Seal River Watershed and Ecotourism

In northern Manitoba, the Seal River Watershed Alliance has proposed an Indigenous Protected Area that could expand ecotourism and sustainable jobs, while protecting one of the largest intact watersheds on the planet. Indigenous tourism generated $94 million and over 1,200 jobs in 2017. By partnering with First Nations to protect the watershed, the Government of Manitoba can help expand these opportunities and move forward in reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples.
