“Itʻs important not only for us, but it's important for the world.” Research shows that 80% of remaining biodiversity is on lands managed by Indigenous Peoples. This past December, we heard from dozens of Indigenous leaders at the UN Biodiversity summit in Montreal that not only highlighted the success of Indigenous-led conservation approaches, but also illustrated why investment in global Indigenous-led conservation is necessary to prevent climate change and biodiversity loss.
