Steve Kallick is an international policy and human rights lawyer with over 40 years’ experience working in Alaska, the Western U.S., Canada, Australia, and Chile. He currently supports the Indigenous Leadership Initiative as a senior strategic advisory housed as the Resources Legacy Fund, where he has been since 2017.
Prior to that, Kallick worked at The Pew Charitable Trusts for 20 years, creating and leading the International Boreal Conservation Campaign, which was for many years the host and incubator for development of the Indigenous Leadership Initiative.
From 1982 through 1997, Kallick lived in Alaska, working for a variety of organizations as a lawyer, lobbyist, legislative counsel, and community organizer. He received his Juris Doctorate and certificate in Natural Resources Law from Lewis and Clark Law School in Portland, Oregon, and his undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois in Urbana, Illinois.
