Jenn Wesanko

Jenn lives in British Columbia in the traditional territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations (Vancouver). She is the descendant of people that came to Canada from Northern Europe, particularly Ireland and Finland.

Jenn has a background in psychology, communications, and environmental studies. As a communications strategist Jenn is passionate about nurturing stories that build awareness and understanding of our shared humanity and interconnection with the natural world. She has served community action groups, national and international public policy organizations, federal ministers of the environment, international trade, and international development, and emissaries including His Holiness The Dalai Lama.

Her communications work is informed by her academic and professional work in psychology and she integrates her understanding of human nature into her communications and media relations coaching, training and activities. She also leads resilience workshops and programs for people and organizations working on and experiencing the impacts of climate change.

Centred in allyship, Jenn’s communications and media relations role focuses on supporting and uplifting the ongoing work of the Indigenous Leadership Initiative.
