Innovative partnership in support of Indigenous-led conservation of nature launched in Canada


INDIGENOUS LEADERSHIP INITIATIVE


GUELPH, TURTLE ISLAND: July 23, 2019: – A historic partnership in support of the conservation of traditional lands and waters by Indigenous Peoples is among a number of projects to receive funding from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC). The Conservation through Reconciliation Partnership will receive $2.5 million with additional funds and in-kind support provided by the University of Guelph, Indigenous organizations and the conservation sector in Canada.
